Simple

Confused?

It's simpler than it seems. No matter the result of tonight's USF-West Virginia game, as long as Louisville beats UConn, the Bulls are going
bowling in North Carolina. How fitting that Louisville can help the team that ruined their once-promising season.

That doesn't mean this game doesn't matter. The Bulls need to win. That upset against the Cardinals had convinced a lot of people that USF was quite good. Now those people are leaning to thinking that Louisville really was that overrated. Even crazy Lee Corso changed his mind about us - he picked West Virginia. We need to show that we are every bit the great team that the nation fell in love with for a week.

Our bowl potential certainly improves with a win. Should UConn win they would also be bowl-eligible. Having a game up on the Huskies despite having lost to the them could still put us in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

West Virginia, not Louisville, will obviously be the team to beat in the Big East year to year. A win in our first meeting would give us a chance to resend the Mountaineers and the rest of the conference the message we first sent after Louisville.

We're the only team in the country that has not trailed this year at home. Home-field advantage is significantly more important in college football than the NFL - how great would it be for RayJay to gain some mystique? It won't be The Swamp, but it would still help get our name out there.

And maybe if we win this game and/or go to a bowl game, we won't have to suffer through any more untelevised games like tonight's, which was supposed to air on
WFTS-28 had the game been played when originally scheduled. Instead we've been snubbed by - how obnoxious - the Seminoles.

Go Bulls. Go Cards.
